Web3 and where Cuffies is inserted at this

A term that is currently on the agenda is Web3 (Web 3 or Web 3.0), becoming a buzzword. Its definition is still unclear, but the essentials we can take away: decentralization and data protection.

Like many advances of humanity, the Internet follows improvements desired by humanity. Web1 (HTML, URL, HTTP) — first stage of Internet at the 90’s with static and basic functions (e.g. e-mail) without interaction. Web2 (Javascript, CSS, HTML5) — second stage of Internet at 2000’s with interactive functions, the age of social media, where the user can create their own content.

Web3 — third stage of the Internet with interactive functions and data protections, i.e. decentralization at its core. For example, we have DeFi for financial services (like Ethereum), decentralized and sound money to fundament this new economy (the Bitcoin) and decentralized forms to store and share data (blockchain and specifically IPFS).

This is the core of Web3: freedom. And we at Cuffies are part of this new movement, in addition to being at the heart of it all, the cryptoassets market. We understand that people should be free to receive and make payments in any way they want and still be able to express themselves freely on a network that won’t sell their data to anyone.

Humanity will always bring revolutions to our lives, for better or for worse; and it’s good to be part of a new era of the Internet that has everything to bring more security and convenience to people.
